Students are selected to participate in a competition at the District level. Students who win move on to the State level and then the National level. The Criminal Justice category has two competitions:

Crime Scene Investigation Team

The CSI team works together to solve a crime that has occurred. The team is required to photograph and sketch a crime scene as well as collect evidence. During the competition students are graded on accuracy, communication skills, safety and their deductive reasoning skills to solve the crime. 

Criminal Justice

The criminal justice competitor is given a police incident scenario and they have to work through the scenario using knowledge learned about arrest procedures, handcuffing, booking and report writing. Students are graded on safety, communication, and skills used throughout the incident.
