CDA Ready Certification

This program is designed to prepare students to enter the workforce or postsecondary institutions.  It will also help strengthen the skills necessary to provide safe, healthy, positive, and developmentally appropriate care for young children.  Program work includes instruction in the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW) regulations, CPR certification, first aide, nutrition, child development, curriculum and lesson planning, designing age appropriate learning environments, budgeting, classroom management, guidance techniques, observation, newsletters, bulletin boards, and supervisory skills.  In addition, students can prepare for the nationally recognized Child Development Associate Credential (CDA).
